OJ cleans up -Who would've thought that a show about the OJ Simpson crime trial cleaned up the miniseries categories? Winning 5 awards including outstanding miniseries, The People vs. OJ Simpson was the real surprise of the night.
Kimmel's impressive hosting -Despite losing his variety category to the equally hilarious John Oliver, Kimmel never missed a beat, tearing apart politics, the lack of diversity at the Academy Awards for film, having the kids from Stranger Things give out peanut butter sandwiches (careful about the allergies!) and keeping it rather clean (with a few exceptions).
Game of Thrones does it again -Winning for a second consecutive time for Best Drama Series (and also winning in the Writing and Directing categories for "Battle of the Bastards"), Game of Thrones managed to win 3 awards despite losing it's acting nominations, one (Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series) of which went to...
Downton's last one -Maggie Smith, who got joked about by Jimmy Kimmel for not showing up at the ceremony (again). If you want your Emmy Maggie, Kimmel said it is in the lost and found. That wasn't exactly a nice thing to say.
Rami Malek- nice one! -When winning the Best Actor in a Drama Series category for his role as hacker Elliot on "Mr. Robot", you could tell he was very overwhelmed and overjoyed. My opinion? It is nice to see young talent get recognized for their fine work.
Well, that's all for now. You can see the full list of winners here, and until then, goodnight everybody!
