We will start this post with some breaking news about the robbery of some US swim athletes...
Ryan Lochte and others robbed -After a comfortable night of partying in the French house, Ryan Lochte and three other swimmers were pulled over in the taxi they were riding back to the Olympic village by people posing as police officers. It wasn't long before all four athletes (and I presume one driver) were held at gunpoint, and after Ryan refused to cooperate, he too was forced down. They then stole the athlete's wallets, leaving their phones unscathed. Sadly, that is not too uncommon in Rio.
Micheal's final tally: 28 medals -After retiring from the pool with a win in the 4 by 100 meter iM, Michael Phelps ended his illustrious swimming career with 23 Olympic golds, 3 Olympic silvers, and a pair of Olympic bronzes. In addition to that, according to Wikipedia (and hopefully some other sources), he also earned 55 total medals in other world swimming competitions for a total of 83 all time gold, silver and bronze medals. That is impressive!
Goodbye green pool! -As reported by CNN, it has been confirmed by them that nearly a million gallons of fart smelling, Shrek pee water has been drained from the synchronized swimming and diving venue at the Mara Lenk Aquatic Center. The pool was restored to its original blue color before synchronized swimming events started today.
So while I did not have much sport-related news to report on today, it will be back tomorrow at your Olympic blog headquarters, ROMVIEWS.WEEBLY.COM! Goodnight.
