There are too many wildcards that I could name in the final night before the Golden Globe Nominations are announced (6:15/5:15 PT December 11). Let's go through them shall we?
TRY EVERYTHING, Original Song (Zootopia)
Shakira's anthem from the now Critic's Choice winning film has already gotten love from the Grammys, so can we expect it here?
SLEDGEHAMMER, Original Song (Star Trek Beyond)
The Golden Globe voters seem to love their blockbuster songs, and as I stated in my 10 BOLD PREDICTIONS post, Sia writing this song as well as Try Everything doesn't hurt either.
Millie Bobby Brown, Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries, or TV Movie (STRANGER THINGS)
As Eleven, Brown captivated the world and easily became a critical darling, scoring a Critic's Choice Award nomination for her work. Will that solidify her for Golden Globes glory? We'll find out soon enough.
THIS IS US, Drama Series
NBC's new show has quickly become the new Parenthood. While that show didn't become a awards darling, THIS IS US certainly does, with a Critic's Choice Award nomination to prove it. Will it be there tomorrow?
THE RED TURTLE, Best Animated Feature Film
This Ghibili-Wild Bunch co-production, praised by many and winning a Un Certain Regard award at the Cannes Film Festival, could be the antithesis for the big studio films seeking an animated nod this year. Will it get there (despite having no dialouge)?
GHOSTBUSTERS, Best Picture - Comedy or Musical
While being one of the most divided films of 2016 due to its controversial casting choices, critics ate this film up. Will it be the one the HFPA (Hollywood Foreign Press Association) calls?
Of course, there are plenty more. Tell me which ones I missed in the comments below and check back tomorrow for a rundown of the Golden Globe Nominations!
